PERMANENT VACANCY FOR DELIVERY DRIVER/OFFSIDER

 

We are looking for an experienced driver to assist us in delivering and collecting donations from our customers on Bribie Island and surrounding areas (a Truck driver’s licence is not required).

 

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3pm (35-hour week) and the occasional Saturday morning from 8am – 12pm.

 

The successful applicant will serve a 3-month probationary period and will be required to have a medical assessment at our expense prior to confirmation of permanency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver customer purchases as per Manager’s instructions.
  • Pick up donated goods from customer premises as per Manager’s instructions.
  • Advise customers if donated goods are not fit for resale and hence cannot be taken.
  • Place priced items of furniture on shop floor.
  • Comply with road rules and regulations.
  • Assist staff and volunteers as required.
  • Assist customers in carrying heavy items out to their vehicles.
  • When not fulfilling the delivery duties, assist in sorting donations.
  • Any other duties as per Manager’s instructions if all duties are completed before end of shift.

 

SPECIFIC SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

  • Preferred work experience as a delivery driver.
  • Hands on experience with manual handling of heavy items and operations of lifting tools, ratchet straps, trolleys etc.
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Ability to deal with members of the public in a respectful and calm manner.
  • Ability to assess the quality and resaleable condition of donated items.
  • Ability to be a participating team member including the ability to successfully communicate with customers and staff.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and clean neat appearance at all times.
