GATES OPEN ON SUNDAY

Posted on | June 14, 2018 | Comments Off on GATES OPEN ON SUNDAY

Due to the dumping of rubbish and continual theft that was occurring we have had to lock the gates after hours.
Starting next week, we will have the gates open from 9am to 11am when one of our wonderful volunteers has offered to attend the car park, so if you have any items you wish to donate on Sunday please keep that timeframe in mind.
We have recently obtained some more clothing racks, which will allow us to display both winter and summer clothing at all times.
We also have some new shoe and handbag racks which are proving to be more economical space wise.

We have had problems with children pulling toys out of boxes and spreading them into the aisle causing trip hazards, so please mum and dad watch what your little ones are doing. We do ask that children remain with their parents at all times, because we did not want them wandering out of the store and getting lost.

AFTER EASTER SALES

Posted on | April 6, 2018 | Comments Off on AFTER EASTER SALES

The Busy Fingers Family hope you had a very Happy Easter and enjoyed time with both family and friends.
We were closed over the four days and we also closed the gates to avoid dumping and also the theft of generous donations. Please do not leave donations outside the gates when they are closed as these donations are often stolen, if we can capture licence plates numbers we will seek Police help.

The gates are always closed from 12pm Saturday until 7.30am Monday. The gates will be left open on Anzac Day as it is in the middle of the week, we do close the gates on Public Holiday weekends and Easter and our Christmas Break.

We currently have a storewide 50% sale on, as we have many boxes of clothes ready to put on the racks, we will continue to have some summer clothes on the racks this winter just in case we have a mild winter and also for the customers going to warmer places for holidays.

Shortly plastic bags will no longer be available, so please try and remember to bring a bag when shopping with us. We are in the process of arranging reusable bags that we will have available for a small fee.

Due to the Easter break we are currently approximately a week behind with our free pick up service, so if you have donations you wish us to collect please ring Sonia as soon as possible on 3408 1014.

We currently have a large collection of furniture and kitchen items, so please come and take advantage of 50% sale.

NEW FENCE & CHRISTMAS BREAK

Posted on | November 14, 2017 | Comments Off on NEW FENCE & CHRISTMAS BREAK

Hello All
Just updating you on what is happening at the shop over the next month. As you probably are aware, we have had to erect a fence which is now closed from 12 noon Saturday until 7.30 on Monday each weekend. We were forced to do this as we had constant issues with stealing of donated goods over the weekend period and we also had people continually dumping their rubbish here instead of going to the dump. Some people even left damaged furniture out in the open driveway and when it rained the items became so heavy, it was virtually impossible for us to take it to the dump as we couldn’t get it into the truck. All of these issues were costing us not only time but money, we cannot go to the Ningi Tip as businesses are not allowed, so our drivers had to go to Caboolture which is very time consuming. We also had to increased our big green bins from 1 to 3 resulting in extra expensive costs to us. Therefore, the decision was made to close the driveway over the weekends.

We will continue to have a free pick up service so if you have furniture or other items that you can’t bring along Monday – Friday please call us on 3408 1014 to arrange a pick up.

We will be closing over the Christmas – New Year Period. Our doors will close at 12 on Saturday 23rd December and we will re-open at 8.30 Tuesday 2nd January 2018. During this time the gates will remain locked, so if you have an items to donate please arrange to have them here, either by delivering them yourself or with our pick up service by Saturday morning 23rd December. WE SINCERELY THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN THIS MATTER.

Currently we are having constant sales, we have many books on the shelves $5 a bag and plenty of furniture on the floor, as these items increase we have a 50% off sale. We also have plenty of summer clothes available and we are constantly putting out Christmas Decorations. I noticed this morning that there is plenty of gym equipment available as well, so please come along and check out the bargains.

NEW SHOP

Posted on | October 27, 2016 | Comments Off on NEW SHOP

As most of you are aware the new extension is just about completed, with just a few updates to the existing building, we hope to have all completed by the end of the month., as November is the 1st anniversary of the signing of the building contract.

The shop has plenty of extra room now for displaying the furniture inside, so it has made life easier for our volunteers, as they no longer have  to move furniture in and out of the shed especially on rainy days.

For a trial period we have some  “SECONDS” bins which can be found at the end of the clothing racks.  These clothes are not damaged they just have a mark on them which can be removed by a soak and wash, all are priced at 50 cents.

Women’s clothes are on SALE at 50% off.

As we get nearer to Christmas we will advise our closure days between Christmas and New Year.  During our closure we will be resurfacing the floor of the old shop, this should be the last of the renovations/extensions.

If you haven’t visited us for awhile please come along and check out our new shop and the bargains we have to offer.

NEWS

The new shop is working well and we are starting to receive some great pre-loved items in the shop so come along and check us out.

On a sad note……… we have to upgrade our security to ensure that non-community minded residents did not endanger our efforts in supporting the Bribie Island Community. These people have already started by stealing some after hours donations and we were also broken into by 2 young teenagers, who damaged windows and also security panels. Due to these two issues we have had to resort to filing complaints with the police and we fully intend to prosecute these offenders, who are on our cameras.

Busy Fingers does like involving the police in these matters,  but we can no longer afford to have donations stolen as they have been donated in good faith.

OFFENDERS PLEASE STAY AWAY AND THINK OF YOUR COMMUNITY AND NOT JUST YOURSELF.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS  – HELPING US SUPPORT YOU.

The extension should be completed in approximately 5 months when we will have a bigger and more open shop for you to enjoy. The car park is currently reduced and we regret any inconvenience during this time, as the building is near completion the car park will be extended to 29 car parks.
