BAGS AND BASKETS

Posted on | September 26, 2019 | Comments Off on BAGS AND BASKETS

Customers please be advised that we do not supply bags so please remember to bring a bag when shopping.

You will need a bag when you take advantage of our Fill a bag of clothes for $6.

PLEASE RETURN OUR SHOPPING BASKETS

Over the past few weeks we have had sales on clothes and quite a few of our customers have taken our shopping baskets to their cars and have not returned them. We have only a few left and this is causing problems for our staff and customers.  If you have one of our shopping baskets please return it when you next come to see us, just place it inside the door with the other baskets.

QUEENS BIRTHDAY MONDAY 7th OCTOBER 2019

Please be aware the shop will be closed for the public holiday on Monday 7th October.

WASTE LEVY

Busy Fingers now has to pay when we go to the Caboolture Tip, this is an expensive exercise, so please only bring clean clothes and items in good condition when donating. This will keep our costs down enabling us to donate more funds to the island.

We have many bargains happening at the moment so please check out the blackboard as you enter the shop.

NEW ART GALLERY & CONDOLENCES

We now have a dedicated room for the larger pictures.  the entrance is situated on the right hand side wall as you walk into the shop. Please check it out on your next visit.

On a sad note the Busy Fingers family send our condolences to Fred and his family at the passing of his lovely wife Anita.  Anita was one of our best customers and our friend. She came to the shop several times a week and would wander around happily and speak to so many people. She was also a generous person droppng in with biscuits for morning tea. She will be sadly missed by the Busy Fingers staff and volunteers.

SALES & NEWS

Posted on | May 17, 2019 | Comments Off on SALES & NEWS

For bargains and sales please see our Blackboard at the entrance of the shop. Sales are advertised here daily.

Currently the last week of the month is clothing week where you can fill a basket for $5, this will continue until further notice.

Please call 3408 1014 if you wish to know what is on sale on the day you will be visiting as bargains and sales change constantly.

We are once again having trouble with dumping.

A vehicle dumped 2 filthy urine filled mattresses outside our gates at 1.30 in the morning, and after following rain these mattresses were hard to move. Please take your rubbish to the dump yourself, our volunteers are wonderful people helping their community and they shouldn’t be subjected to this type of disgusting behaviour.

We wish to send our condolences to the family of Mavis Howard who recently passed away, Mavis was a great supporter of Busy Fingers. She would give some of her valuable time to putting together lucky dip bags for the children. She would always ensure we had plenty on hand for the school holidays as the children loved finding the many surprises inside. Mavis was a lovely lady and she will be sadly missed by the Busy Fingers Family.

SALES

Hello
We hope all our supporters enjoyed a wonderful Easter Break with their family and friends.

We wish to thank everyone for noticing the signs on the fence about leaving donations over public holidays and/or anytime the gates are closed. This holiday produced nothing being left on the footpath which pleased not only us but also the council, as it is their land and leaving donations there is classified as dumping and fines could apply. We did not want to see this occur, so thank you to all who kept their donations until today to drop off.

Please be aware that the shop will be CLOSED ON THURSDY 25TH FOR ANZAC DAY AND ALSO ON MONDAY 6TH MAY FOR LABOUR DAY.

SALES        We currently have many items on sale for 50% off marked price, this will continue until stocks last.

50% OFF ALL  FURNITURE,   DINNER SETS,   PRINTS,   LAMPS AND SPEAKERS

FILL A BASKET OF CLOTHES FOR $5

FILL A BASKET OF BOOKS FOR $5

FILL A BASKET OF BOOKS – SECONDS (MARKED WITH A DOT) FOR $2.

These sales will continue until further notice – PLEASE CHECK THE BLACKBOARD AS YOU ENTER THE SHOP FOR ANY OTHER BARGAINS

PICK UPS AND DELIVERIES

Please be aware that we receive many calls for pick up of donations  – we arrange pick ups for the mornings as the afternoons are reserved for the delivery of purchases.

Our pick up board gets full quickly so if you require a pick up please give us as much notice as possible as we would like to fit in with your timetable as much as possible.

If you need a pick up or have any questions please call our manager Sonia on  3408 1014.

Thank You

Christmas Break & Donations

Posted on | January 3, 2019 | Comments Off on Christmas Break & Donations

Residents are mentioning that there is a mountain of donations left on the footpath outside the closed gates of the shop.

The article that is written each month in the Bribie Islander has been advertising our 2 week closure for the last 3 months, we also had notices in the shop during December. We asked people to refrain from leaving donations until we return on Monday 7th January, we also suggested they call for a pick up during the last week before Christmas if they couldn’t deliver them to us.

We try to ensure that everyone knows we are not there, so nothing is deposited outside the gate, as if it rains things are damaged and have to be taken to the Caboolture tip as businesses are not allowed to use the Ningi tip.

As we advised previously we were forced to erect a fence and close the gates overnights and weekends due to the continual acts of theft and also the dumping of rubbish.

We can no longer leave the white bins out either as we have some people who believe they are available to use as garbage bins for kitchen rubbish.

We try to ensure all the residents are aware of what we are doing, we can’t make people read newspapers or notices even when we do it repeatedly within the shop.

The shop opens on Monday 7th January at 8.30 am and the gates will be opened at 7.15, so if you have any donations please do not leave them outside the gate. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

GATES OPEN ON SUNDAY

Posted on | June 14, 2018 | Comments Off on GATES OPEN ON SUNDAY

Due to the dumping of rubbish and continual theft that was occurring we have had to lock the gates after hours.
Starting next week, we will have the gates open from 9am to 11am when one of our wonderful volunteers has offered to attend the car park, so if you have any items you wish to donate on Sunday please keep that timeframe in mind.
We have recently obtained some more clothing racks, which will allow us to display both winter and summer clothing at all times.
We also have some new shoe and handbag racks which are proving to be more economical space wise.

We have had problems with children pulling toys out of boxes and spreading them into the aisle causing trip hazards, so please mum and dad watch what your little ones are doing. We do ask that children remain with their parents at all times, because we did not want them wandering out of the store and getting lost.

AFTER EASTER SALES

Posted on | April 6, 2018 | Comments Off on AFTER EASTER SALES

The Busy Fingers Family hope you had a very Happy Easter and enjoyed time with both family and friends.
We were closed over the four days and we also closed the gates to avoid dumping and also the theft of generous donations. Please do not leave donations outside the gates when they are closed as these donations are often stolen, if we can capture licence plates numbers we will seek Police help.

The gates are always closed from 12pm Saturday until 7.30am Monday. The gates will be left open on Anzac Day as it is in the middle of the week, we do close the gates on Public Holiday weekends and Easter and our Christmas Break.

We currently have a storewide 50% sale on, as we have many boxes of clothes ready to put on the racks, we will continue to have some summer clothes on the racks this winter just in case we have a mild winter and also for the customers going to warmer places for holidays.

Shortly plastic bags will no longer be available, so please try and remember to bring a bag when shopping with us. We are in the process of arranging reusable bags that we will have available for a small fee.

Due to the Easter break we are currently approximately a week behind with our free pick up service, so if you have donations you wish us to collect please ring Sonia as soon as possible on 3408 1014.

We currently have a large collection of furniture and kitchen items, so please come and take advantage of 50% sale.
